About Vantaset & Performance-OS
What is Vantaset?
Vantaset is a specialist performance transformation company and the creator of Performance-OS™. For over 30 years, Vantaset has helped organisations improve their performance and productivity by giving leaders the operating infrastructure to transform how they lead, manage and execute their strategy.
What is Performance-OS™?
Performance-OS™ is the world’s first purpose-built High-Performance Operating System. It is unique globally as it’s the only operating system that’s powered by proprietary performance transformation technology that aligns the ‘5 Drivers of Workplace Performance™’ - Strategy, Culture, Leadership, Capability and Performance Management.
What is a High-Performance Operating System?
A High-Performance Operating System is the operating layer that enables organisations to achieve high-level performance at scale. To be effective, however, a performance operating system needs to encompass all 5 Drivers™ otherwise critical gaps remain. By aligning these drivers of performance, a High-Performance Operating System provides organisations with the infrastructure to ‘operationalise’ its performance in a consistent and coherent way rather than each workgroup trying to manage its activities using separate practices.
What problem does Performance-OS solve?
Performance-OS addresses the fragmentation issue that prevents organisations from translating their strategy into consistent performance outcomes. Because this operating layer has been missing, organisations have been forced to manage these (5) disciplines or ‘drivers’ as standalone practices resulting in a disconnect between the organisation’s strategy and how it delivers it. Performance-OS solves this problem by providing standardised infrastructure to enable each and every workgroup to deliver the outcomes the organisation is aiming to produce.
What are the 5 Drivers of Workplace Performance™?
The 5 Drivers of Workplace Performance™ (Strategy, Culture, Leadership, Capability and Performance Management) are the structural disciplines our founder identified govern workplace performance following his research on organisational performance. As a product, Performance-OS not only aligns these disciplines so they work together, it enables organisations to use them as levers to drive the performance of the business.
Who it’s for
Where did Performance-OS come from?
Performance-OS was built following our founder’s discovery of the principles that govern elite human performance which were later adapted to help organisations unlock their potential. Vantaset later codified those principles so they could be integrated into a business as a scalable high-performance operating system. In this respect, its origins span elite sport and later, deployment across business, government and complex distributed organisations.
How does Performance-OS work?
Performance-OS works by giving organisations a common high-performance operating system to transform the impact and effectiveness of its workforce. It achieves this by connecting every team and individual to the organisation’s vision or strategy, followed by the leadership, capability, and performance practices required to deliver it.
What does Performance-OS do inside an organisation?
Performance-OS translates strategic intent into everyday performance. Specifically, it gives every workgroup the tools, clarity, and frameworks to transform their contribution to the business so they can fulfill their role in the strategy.
Why does Performance-OS work?
Performance-OS works because business performance is fundamentally a consequence of human performance. By deploying purpose-built infrastructure, it aligns the structural drivers that govern people’s performance - Strategy, Culture, Leadership, Capability and Performance Management - thereby creating the operating conditions to optimise their impact and engagement.
How is Performance-OS different from conventional approaches?
Conventional approaches usually address one part of the performance equation: strategy, culture, leadership, capability or performance management. Performance-OS is different because it integrates these domains through one governing system powered by Vantaset’s proprietary performance transformation technology. It is not another initiative layered on top of people’s work; it is the operating architecture that informs how performance is produced.
Is Performance-OS an HR system?
No. Performance-OS is not an HR system so doesn’t replace systems that manage payroll, leave, personnel records or compliance. HR systems are Systems of Record that are critical to a business. As a High-Performance Operating System, Performance-OS is a System of Engagement designed to help organisations optimise staff alignment, accountability and performance in a consistent and scalable way.
Deployment & support
Is Performance-OS a leadership development programme?
No. Performance-OS is not a leadership development programme. Leadership is one of the 5 Drivers of Workplace Performance™ so although Performance-OS gives leaders a codified means to optimise workgroup performance, it is not about individual leadership capability or theory, but how organisation’s leverage their organisation’s structure to improve the performance of their entire workforce.
Is Performance-OS a culture programme?
No. Performance-OS is not a culture programme. Culture is one structural driver inside Performance-OS, not a standalone intervention. Performance-OS changes culture by changing the operating conditions that shape how people are led, aligned, supported and enabled every day.
How is Performance-OS different from productivity, OKR or strategy execution tools?
Most productivity, OKR and strategy execution tools help organisations track their goals and activities against their strategy, whereas Performance-OS is designed to transform how the organisation performs. It achieves this by aligning the 5 Drivers so strategy is not only tracked, but operationalised correctly throughout the business.
Why would an organisation use Performance-OS?
An organisation would use Performance-OS when it needs a scalable way to lift performance, improve productivity, strengthen execution and reduce the risk created by fragmented ways of working. It is especially relevant when leaders need to increase revenue, manage costs and reduce risk through better organisational performance.
Results & proof
What outcomes can organisations expect from Performance-OS?
Organisations typically see significant improvements in workforce alignment, productivity, and engagement. They also experience notable improvements in leadership effectiveness, operational visibility and employee capability and accountability. The exact outcomes, however, depend on the organisation’s context, deployment scope and performance priorities.

For executives, Performance-OS provides the infrastructure to turn their strategic intent into enterprise performance. It reduces the complexity of managing disconnected initiatives while giving them a common operating model for alignment, execution, leadership impact and performance improvement.
What difference does Performance-OS make for leaders?
For leaders, Performance-OS provides a practical operating system to lift the performance and engagement of their workgroup. It helps leaders connect their people to the strategy, clarify expectations, build capability, strengthen accountability and have more effective performance conversations.
Getting started
Is Performance-OS a performance management tool?
Performance-OS includes a people-first performance management framework but is far broader than a performance management tool. Traditional systems typically focus on reviews, ratings and/or compliance, whereas Performance-OS provides organisations with the infrastructure to improve their people’s impact and effectiveness across every level of the business.
What difference does Performance-OS make for employees?
For employees, Performance-OS creates greater clarity about the organisation’s direction, their role in delivering it, and what high performance looks like in practice. It supports a more constructive relationship with their leader and the business by focusing on the importance of their role to the organisation and why their success matters to stakeholders.
What is the ROI of Performance-OS?
The return on Performance-OS comes from improving how the organisation performs. This generally includes stronger execution, better productivity, lower performance friction, improved retention, clearer accountability and higher engagement. For profit-focused organisations, these factors are critical in lifting revenue, profit and share value. For public organisations, they are critical in terms of improving public trust and confidence. Whatever the context, Vantaset works with each customer to understand the specific operational and financial outcomes they are seeking.
More questions
What technology supports Performance-OS?
Performance-OS is supported by a purpose-built digital platform that helps organisations deploy, apply and monitor the operating system at scale. The platform includes learning channels, performance application software, and data and insights to help leaders and workgroups apply the system consistently. While the technology supports the operating system, it is not the system itself.
Is Performance-OS secure?
Yes. Performance-OS has been built to meet the expectations of enterprise and government customers. Customer data and employee information are protected through appropriate safeguards, access controls, encryption, administrative permissions and security review processes. Specific security requirements are confirmed with each organisation during procurement and deployment planning.
Can Performance-OS be configured to our organisation?
Yes. Performance-OS is configured to reflect each organisation’s strategy, structure, and brand identity. It is not deployed as a generic off-the-shelf experience. Instead, the system is contextualised to reflect each organisation’s aspirations and requirements.
Can Performance-OS integrate with our existing systems?
Yes. Performance-OS can integrate with existing systems where required, including HRIS or identity systems, depending on the organisation’s technology environment and implementation scope. At the same time, it can be deployed as a standalone system where integration is not required or impractical. Either way, a mature HRIS or ERP is not required to create value; Performance-OS simply needs the workforce structure data set to configure the platform so it reflects the organisation’s hierarchy and subsequent reporting lines.
What type of organisations is Performance-OS designed for?
Performance-OS is designed for organisations that rely on their people to deliver their strategy and/or need a more effective way to produce performance at scale. This includes private businesses, public sector agencies, growth focused companies, critical-service organisations, and complex distributed enterprises.
Is Performance-OS suitable for public sector organisations?
Yes. Performance-OS is highly relevant to public sector organisations because it focuses on alignment, leadership, capability, and performance to meet stakeholder outcomes. The language and measures may differ from the private sector, but the requirement is the same; helping people deliver the outcomes the organisation exists to provide.
How is Performance-OS deployed?
Performance-OS is deployed as a leader-led operating system, supported by Vantaset’s Performance Partners and Customer Success Team, and the Vantaset platform. Preparation includes understanding each customer’s strategy, structure, leadership context, performance challenges and desired outcomes. The platform is then configured for the business before being introduced progressively to support how the organisation leads and manages its performance. Timing depends on size, complexity, scope and implementation pathway.
How does Vantaset support customers long term?
Vantaset supports customers through preparation, deployment and ongoing optimization support and advice. This includes executive workshops, programme support, governance support, internal champion support, configuration guidance and coaching as appropriate. Our aim is to help our customers embed Performance-OS as an enduring high performance operating layer to help them succeed.
What does Performance-OS cost?
Performance-OS is a licensed operating system, supported by a purpose-built SaaS platform. It includes implementation workshops plus ongoing optimisation support once it’s embedded. The cost for each customer depends on its size, scope, and deployment requirements or support.
How do we get started?
Most organisations start with an Executive Briefing, Strategic Diagnostic Conversation and/or a Facilitated Audit. These steps help clarify the organisation’s performance constraints, readiness to grow or transform, and deployment requirements. Performance Ability Assessments can also be used as an initial benchmark before determining the next step.
