Acknowledging the nation’s services

This post is dedicated to acknowledging the efforts of our authorities and essential services.

I would like to dedicate this post to acknowledging the efforts of our authorities and essential services.

Exceptional circumstances like this remind us how fortunate we are to live in a country where we have a stable Government, a world-class health system, and thousands of professional people who are prepared to work around the clock to keep our communities safe.

Irrespective of our political preferences, Jacinda Ardern and Grant Robertson have done a tremendous job in steering New Zealand through the crisis. Their efforts along with our Director-General of Health Dr. Ashley Bloomfield, University of Otago Professor, Dr. Michael Baker and Auckland University Microbiologist Dr. Siouxsie Wiles, in particular, have been superb in not only helping guide the nation through the crisis but educating us about the virus and what we can do to minimise its impact.

Lastly, I would like to thank our thousands of front-line staff including our Police Officers, Doctors, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Local Authorities, and every other person providing an essential service for putting themselves at risk in order to keep the rest of us safe.

As Jacinda continues to remind us, the greatest way we can show our appreciation is to stay at home and do what we can.
